The Brain
Laird was prevalent on THE bulletin board in late 80’something and got enlisted.
TCP/IP was accepted and hypertext became the future. Mosaic and
Netscape popularity booms meant a network of The Brain(s) needed to be established before the interweb imploded.
It was at exactly 44 minutes and 44 seconds past 4 in early
90’something that Laird adopted his The Brain.

RECYCLING
Laird Sculptures always use some recycled materials. Recycling is the process of converting waste materials and objects into new materials and objects. It reduces energy use, air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from landfill).
REPURPOSING
Laird Sculptures always use some repurposed materials. Repurposing is to use something as something else, usually for a purpose unintended by the original manufacturer. Repurposing is often done using items usually considered to be junk or rubbish
REUSING
Laird Sculptures always reuse some materials. Reuse is the action or practice of using an item, whether for its original purpose or to fulfill a different function. The tradition of reusing salvaged objects (objet trouvé) is often used in art
UPCYCLING
Laird Sculptures always use some upcycled materials. Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming useless or unwanted products into new products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic value or environmental value.
Lairdware Art is the blending of old-fashioned, retro, vintage styles, coupled with futuristic technology.

Handmade Unique Art
Laird artist sculptures are completely handmade and created to look as if they exist in the future but are as old as time itself. Every scratch, every scrape, and every layer of embedded dust and grime is lovingly added to make it look aged and used. As the design is created and each coat of paint and wax is painstakingly applied by hand, the art piece becomes more weathered and its aged patina shines through. Every Lairware art sculpture is unique and original and comes with its own Certificate Of Authenticity and Serial Number.
Lairdware is not made to do things, it was simply created to be displayed and admired as an art piece. Anything the sculpture does when you acquired it is a bonus and is merely an addition to its beauty. There is no guarantee that it will continue to do what it does if it does anything at all.
